Who are the Craigleith Coyotes?

Well if you haven't heard of us yet... Where have you been?

The Coyotes are proud to be part of the Craigleith Ski Club, proud of where we come from and what we do. The next time you participate in or watch a race at Craigleith, know that the start was set up and tended to by a world class Timing Team, that the Safety Netting and corrals were put in place by seasoned World Cup and Olympic Crew Veterans working alongside the rest of the dedicated Coyotes Crew, and those blue lines... Even if it is just a finish line, it was probably put in place by the same people who dyed the lines for Manny, Eric, Robbie, Jan, Britt and Kelly... And you know what? We are glad to do it for you too!

Remember that Race Crew is supposed to be a fun experience. Join the commaraderie, make the time to enjoy the snow and hills. There's always beer in the crew fridge, and that if you feel a cough coming on, we have the cure for that too...

Thank You

Hey guys,

Thought that those of you that were at the PODCUP last week would like to see HOW AWESOME the track looks in these photos -
Pod Cup Photos by Brian McGregor

I wanted to also pass on the all the kudos that were received about how well the race was run.

Really good job and Thank YOU for all the help.

Great Job on Saturday also, I hear a lot of positivity from the GDHL on how the race ran and how perfect the track was.

Also on Saturday I really want to say great job to the three of the flaggers who were on the JURY RADIO.   Very professional and well done.

Weekend Wrap-up...

Well what a weekend of racing! At home we saw the GDHLer's race a Super-G on Saturday and the Heart Attack Slalom including race closer Phil Brown on Sunday, along with league racing which included one of the iciest Nancy Greene races in memory...

On the World Cup, Erik Guay had the first Canadian Podium of the season with a second place finish in the DH at Garmish-Partenkirchen, and Kelly Vanderbeek made her return at St. Moritz. So much to be proud of as a Canadian Ski Racing Fan!

A new segment this week - Things Overheard in Wylies... (names have been removed to protect the innocent, who are we kidding, the guilty!)

Conversation #1...
Coyote 1: Your bobs are nice and perky
Coyote 2: I know I use lots of tape

Conversation #2...
Coyote 3: That's nothing a good bi*%# slapping wouldn't fix

So here's the deal, if you overhear something funny, weird or makes you go "huh" send me a note!

Many thanks to Coyote Linda who continues to provide many of the pictures

The Christening of a new gate key for a well deserving Coyote!

Pod Cup!

Pod Cup highlights and maybe a few low points... A small but dedicated group of Coyotes fought through weather of all kinds to ensure the 2012 Pod Cup was a success!

Weekend Schedules Posted

Sorry for the delay, it has been that kind of week...

Thanks to all of you who have been sending me pictures and info for the blog. If you haven't been and would like to get in on the action please do!

When I posted the picture of Robbie Burns the other night I knew he looked familiar but I couldn't figure out why... Take a look at the picture of Dave below, a striking resemblance to the famous Scot!

Looking forward to seeing Team Jaeger this weekend and hopefully a few Meister's too!

Just don't piss off the timing team, they're a bit nutty...

I've had the fortune of rooming with Woody at the World Cup, but I have no idea why he'd smell his sock, I'm sure it wasn't roses...

But at least there is always a warm smile and a cold beverage at Wylies!

Message from the Big Boss...

Quick update to all Coyotes,

I just want to pass along a huge thank you to everyone so far this year!

Our races and set up have been first class and we continue to receive amazing feedback from our guests, members, all staff and racers!

Keep it up!

Cheers,
p.s. Happy belated B-day Ivan!

Burns Night

Tonight is a night loved by Scots and those who wish they were Scottish alike, as we raise a glass and celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns

Heres' to all you Coyotes enjoying haggis, neeps and tatties with a fine single-malt whisky tonight!

Coyotes!

Are you interested in helping with a FIS race is weekend?  If you are not scheduled to work this weekend at Craigleith,  Paul Plotz from Alpine Ski Club is looking for some help.  If you are interested, please let us know right away, as Paul needs to get your name onto his volunteer list.

Take care and have a great week!

Team Jaeger - Weekend #1

Well we survived the cold of weekend one... We shared a few laughs with old friends and met new friends, kept warm with the oh so good food by Mick and Hash, and even managed to host 4 races!

Well done Coyotes!!!
